The 2019 DERA School Bus Rebates will offer over $10 million to public and private fleet owners for the replacement of old diesel school buses with new buses certified to EPA’s cleanest emission standards. EPA will award selected applicants $15,000-20,000 per bus for scrapping and replacing old buses.
The City of Orange Cove has been awarded a grant from the State of California Department of Water Resources to help residents replace existing high-flow bathroom fixtures with new water-efficient models.
Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) offers non-residential equipment rebates to encourage energy efficiency. Restaurant Refresh makes it easy for restaurants to reduce operating costs and improve facility performance. The program combines enhanced rebates and performance incentives. Enhanced rebates are available for ovens, fryers, dishwashers, boilers, and more. A list of qualified equipment and rebate amounts can be found on the program website. Performance incentives are paid one year after installation.
For eligible owners of 1995 and older vehicles which have been observed to have an emissions related issue at a Tune In Tune Up weekend event; opportunities are available through the Enhanced Fleet Modernization Program (EFMP) and EFMP Plus Up (Plus Up) to replace the high emitting vehicle with a newer, more fuel efficient model. Incentives range from $2,500 to $9,500 depending on the household income level, residential status in a disadvantaged community, and the type of vehicle purchased.
The District is currently accepting applications for its Clean Green Yard Machines (CGYM) Rebate Program which provides incentives for Valley residents to replace their old gas lawn mowers in favor of nonpolluting electric lawn mowers. Pasadena Water & Power (PWP) offers its electric customers a rebate for photovoltaic (PV) installations, with a goal of helping to fund the installation of 14 megawatts (MW) of solar power by 2017. The rebate amount varies depending on the customer class installing the system and the system's size. Systems up to 30 kilowatts (kW) are eligible for the Expected Performance Based Buydown (EPBB) or can opt for the performance based incentive (PBI). The EPBB provides a one-time lump sum payment after installation and inspection approval based on the system's estimated AC energy output.
