Community Air Grant

The Air Grants Program's aim is to provide support for community-based organizations to participate in the AB 617 process, and to build capacity to become active partners with government to identify, evaluate, and ultimately reduce air pollution and exposure to harmful emissions in their communities.

Green Infrastructure Grant Program

The California Natural Resources Agency will be accepting proposals for the Green Infrastructure Program from May 13 through June 28, 2019 via the System for Online Application Review (SOAR) . $18.5 million in awards will be funded by this program. Applicants submitting the most competitive proposals will be invited to participate in the next level of the competitive process, anticipated for late Summer/early Fall 2019.

James Cary Smith Community Grants

The Air District is offering $250,000 to non-profit partners and community-based organizations to support and sponsor community-based solutions that address air pollution while also helping reduce our global climate impact. Grants of up to $25,000 per project will be awarded. Grant funding is available to support air quality education and engagement efforts. These grants will fund non-technical activities such as active transportation educational campaigns, urban greening projects, and environmental justice community engagement projects.

Ford Foundation Grants

The Ford Foundation makes grants that support the three I's: Institutions, Ideas, and Individuals. Having recently done away with their siloed grants program, the Ford Foundation accepts grant proposals that start in seven program areas, or entry points, as they say.

The seven program areas:

Patagonia supports environmental organizations with bold, direct-action agendas and a commitment to long-term change. Because we believe that the most direct path to real change is through building grassroots momentum, our funding focuses on organizations that have or can create a strong base of support.

National Tribal Air Association Operations

EPA's Office of Air and Radiation (EPA/OAR) is seeking applications from eligible entities to provide comprehensive air quality policy and regulatory analysis including support and national coordination activities to assist tribes in understanding, participating in and responding to EPA/OAR's policy and regulatory activities. EPA anticipates awarding approximately $1,005,000 over three years. EPA anticipates awarding up to one cooperative agreement from this announcement, subject to availability of funds, the quality of applications received, and other applicable considerations.

Maritime Energy Conservation or Efficiency Pilot/Demonstration Project RFP

The Maritime Administration, Office of Environment is issuing this request for proposals (RFP) for projects that demonstrate shipboard energy conservation or efficiency measures.

Background: Over the past several years, the Maritime Administration (MARAD) has been partnering with government agencies, industry, and academia on efforts to reduce vessel and port emissions, as well as efforts to support the use of alternative fuel and energy sources. Currently, MARAD would like to focus on exploring and supporting proposals focused on shipboard energy efficiency and conservation.
