California Fire Safe Council (CFSC) and Edison International, parent company of Southern California Edison (SCE), are pleased to announce a joint collaboration to provide grants to communities in Southern California Edison service areas. The objective of this project is to provide small grants for community fire prevention and preparedness projects. Funding may be used to further enhance community projects such as: capacity building, community outreach/preparedness, and permit-ready hazardous fuel reduction projects.
The Organic Agriculture Research and Extension Initiative (OREI) seeks to solve critical organic agriculture issues, priorities, or problems through the integration of research, education, and extension activities. The purpose of this program is to fund projects that will enhance the ability of producers and processors who have already adopted organic standards to grow and market high quality organic agricultural products. Priority concerns include biological, physical, and social sciences, including economics.
The Maritime Administration, Office of Environment is issuing this request for proposals (RFP) for projects that demonstrate shipboard energy conservation or efficiency measures.
Background: Over the past several years, the Maritime Administration (MARAD) has been partnering with government agencies, industry, and academia on efforts to reduce vessel and port emissions, as well as efforts to support the use of alternative fuel and energy sources. Currently, MARAD would like to focus on exploring and supporting proposals focused on shipboard energy efficiency and conservation.
The Alternative Manure Management Program (AMMP) provides financial assistance for the implementation of non-digester manure management practices in California, which will result in reduced greenhouse gas emissions. Alternative manure management practices involve handling manure in ways that don't involve using an anaerobic digester. Currently, eligible practices for funding through AMMP include: pasture-based based management; solid separation or conversion from flush to scrape in conjunction with some form of drying or composting of collected manure.
The State Water Efficiency and Enhancement Program (SWEEP) provides financial assistance in the form of grants to implement irrigation systems that reduce greenhouse gases and save water on California agricultural operations. Eligible system components include (among others) soil moisture monitoring, drip systems, switching to low pressure irrigation systems, pump retrofits, variable frequency drives and installation of renewable energy to reduce on-farm water use and energy. The Safe Routes to School National Partnership can assist your efforts to make your community a place where kids can easily be active and healthy. They are offering long-term, free technical assistance to under-resourced communities in California that would like to seek funding through the state’s Active Transportation Program (ATP) for projects that support walking, bicycling and Safe Routes to School.
The Air District’s West Oakland Zero-Emission Grant Program will award up to $600,000 in funding to help owners and operators pay for a portion of the cost to of purchase purchasing and deploying new on- and off-road zero-emission vehicles, infrastructure, and mobile and stationary equipment that will be operated and installed in and around within West Oakland.
The U.S. Forest Service requests proposals to substantially expand and accelerate wood energy and wood products markets throughout the United States to support forest management needs on National Forest System and other forest lands.
This Request for Proposals focuses on the following priorities to:
• Reduce hazardous fuels and improve forest health on National Forest System and other forest lands.
• Reduce costs of forest management on all land types.
• Promote economic and environmental health of communities.
The Clean Fleets Program is an incentive program that offers grant funding to help offset a portion of the cost of purchasing or leasing new light- and medium-duty zero-emissions vehicles for fleets that operate within the Air District’s jurisdiction.
The Bay Area Air Quality Management District's 2019 Charge! Program is open and accepting applications until June 30, 2019. Early application submissions are highly encouraged as the previous year's cycle was oversubscribed.
The Charge! Program offers grant funding to offset the cost of purchasing and installing new charging stations at facilities within the Bay Area Air Quality Management District's jurisdiction. Charge! strives to rapidly expand access to electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to accelerate adoption of EVs in the Bay Area.
