CAL FIRE Forest Health Program

CAL FIRE’s Forest Health Program funds landscape-scale land management projects intended to restore and maintain healthy forests and conserve working forests. Projects funded under the Forest Health Program contribute to the goals of the Forest Carbon Plan, California’s Natural and Working Lands Implementation Plan, and California’s Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 (AB32).

VW Mitigation Trust: Zero-Emission Transit, School, and Shuttle Bus

The VW Mitigation Trust has $130 million in funds to replace older, high-polluting transit, school, and shuttle buses with new battery-electric or fuel-cell buses. Replacing an older bus with a zero-emission bus eliminates particulate matter and other pollutants that impact children and residents riding the buses, as well as residents throughout California communities. During the project’s 10-year period, approximately 425 vehicles will be replaced with an incentive amount of up to $400,000 per vehicle.

Green Infrastructure Grant Program

The California Natural Resources Agency will be accepting proposals for the Green Infrastructure Program from May 13 through June 28, 2019 via the System for Online Application Review (SOAR) . $18.5 million in awards will be funded by this program. Applicants submitting the most competitive proposals will be invited to participate in the next level of the competitive process, anticipated for late Summer/early Fall 2019.

2019 Edison International Fire-Safe Community Grants

California Fire Safe Council (CFSC) and Edison International, parent company of Southern California Edison (SCE), are pleased to announce a joint collaboration to provide grants to communities in Southern California Edison service areas. The objective of this project is to provide small grants for community fire prevention and preparedness projects. Funding may be used to further enhance community projects such as: capacity building, community outreach/preparedness, and permit-ready hazardous fuel reduction projects.

2019 Wood Innovations Funding Opportunity

The U.S. Forest Service requests proposals to substantially expand and accelerate wood energy and wood products markets throughout the United States to support forest management needs on National Forest System and other forest lands.

This Request for Proposals focuses on the following priorities to:

• Reduce hazardous fuels and improve forest health on National Forest System and other forest lands.

• Reduce costs of forest management on all land types.

• Promote economic and environmental health of communities.

State Coastal Conservancy Proposition 1 Grants

The Coastal Conservancy is currently soliciting Proposition 1 grant proposals, applications are due April 30, 2019. The Proposition 1 Solicitation describes the grant program, its priorities, evaluation criteria, and other important information. In order to apply, applicants must submit a cover page and a project description. Applications for Prop 1 funding for restoration and ecosystem protection projects must include a completed Corps Consultation Review form.
