Groundwater Sustainability Plans and Projects

The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) has released the Final 2017 Proposal Solicitation Package (PSP) for Groundwater Sustainability Plans (GSPs) and Projects. DWR is administering the Sustainable Groundwater Planning Grant Program, using funds authorized by Proposition 1, to encourage sustainable management of groundwater resources that support Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). This PSP is making a total of approximately $86.3 million available, with at least $10 million made available to projects that serve Severely Disadvantaged Communities (SDACs) and the remaining amount for planning, development, or preparation of GSPs.

Award Amount: 

Category 1 - Support projects serving Severely Disadvantaged Communities (SDACs) and groundwater sustainability planning and management in the respective basin.

Maximum Award Amount: 

Category 2 - Support Groundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSAs) with planning and development of Groundwater Sustainability Plans (GSPs) with the final deliverable being a GSP and coordination agreement (if applicable).
