2019 Charge! Program

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District's 2019 Charge! Program is open and accepting applications until June 30, 2019. Early application submissions are highly encouraged as the previous year's cycle was oversubscribed.

The Charge! Program offers grant funding to offset the cost of purchasing and installing new charging stations at facilities within the Bay Area Air Quality Management District's jurisdiction. Charge! strives to rapidly expand access to electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to accelerate adoption of EVs in the Bay Area.

Applicants to the Charge! Program are required to attend a pre-application webinar prior to submitting an application. Upcoming webinars are scheduled for:

  • Tuesday, March 12, 2019, 2PM - 3PM
  • Thursday, April 18, 2019, 2PM - 3PM

  • Tuesday, June 11, 2019, 10AM - 11AM

For 2019, $5 million is allocated to this program, and awards are made on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications are only accepted online and can be accessed through the .

Maximum Award Amount: 
$500,000.00

Maximum funding:
• 75% of eligible costs incurred by the Project Sponsor, and
• $500,000 for each applicant in FYE 2019.
