An application should focus the proposed training program to strengthen research capacity in a defined high priority HIV scientific area aligned with NIH HIV/AIDS research priorities (NOT-OD-20-018) at a specific LMIC institution and collaborating LMIC partner institutions.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) invites grant applications for the Research Specialist Award (R50) in any area of NCI-funded cancer research. This FOA is specifically for laboratory-based scientists.The Research Specialist Award is designed to encourage the development of stable research career opportunities for exceptional scientists who want to continue to pursue research within the context of an existing NCI-funded basic, translational, clinical, or population science cancer research program, but not serve as independent investigators. The U.S. Embassy invites interested organizations to submit applications for projects that would provide reliable, statistically valid television ratings measurement in Moldova. This program has the goal of establishing an independent trusted provider of unbiased (open) data on TV audiences in Moldova to be used by advertisers, media outlets and other stakeholders. This funding opportunity is authorized by the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961. Program Objectives: Reliable and trustworthy ratings data are essential for a functioning media market. This project seeks a partner who has a research-based, creative proposal to collect and publish such data for Moldova. Applicants are encouraged to think broadly about the problem and propose solutions that will result in ratings data that reflect reality and can be proven to be accurate. Such a solution could include elements as laid out below: · Establishing a consortium of reputable organizations in Moldova to lead the process to create an alternative measurement system. · Consulting with Moldovan TV stations, media organizations, and advertising agencies during the design of the new rating system · Negotiating access to audience data with major Internet Service Providers (ISPs) whose services include access to TV as well as others who may have audience data. · Providing expert analysis of the data collected, including through the use of outside, independent experts. · Providing free access to ratings and independent data analysis. · Promoting the new service among stakeholders (advertisers, media outlets, business community). Applicants may also provide an adjusted plan or use their own vision on tackling the issue.

The purpose of the NCI Pathway to Independence Award for Outstanding Early Stage Postdoctoral Researchers (K99/R00) program is to increase and maintain a strong cohort of new and talented, NCI-supported, independent investigators. This program is designed for postdoctoral fellows with research and/or clinical doctoral degrees who do not require an extended period of mentored research training beyond their doctoral degrees. The objective of this award is to facilitate a timely transition of these fellows from their mentored, postdoctoral research positions to independent tenure-track (or equivalent) faculty positions. The program will provide independent NCI research support during this transition to help awardees to launch competitive, independent research careers. Researchers in the scientific areas of data science and cancer control science are especially encouraged to apply. The NIH Research Education Program (R25) supports research education activities in the mission areas of the NIH. The NIH INvestigation of Co-occurring conditions across the Lifespan to Understand Down syndromE (INCLUDE) Project seeks to improve health and quality-of-life for individuals with Down syndrome (DS). As part of the INCLUDE Project, NIH is interested in expanding and diversifying the skilled DS clinical research workforce. The intent of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to encourage applications that develop creative and innovative short courses to train the next generation of DS researchers in state-of-the-art clinical research skills that will improve the understanding of the co-occurring clinical features in DS and support development of new treatments for health conditions experienced by those with DS.

The purpose of the NIH HEAL InitiativeSM Pathway to Independence Award (K99/R00) program is to support a cohort of new and talented independent investigators conducting Pain and/or SUD research, in order to increase the independent investigator workforce in research areas supported by the NIH HEAL InitiativeSM. This program is designed to facilitate a timely transition of eligible outstanding postdoctoral researchers from their mentored, postdoctoral research positions to independent, tenure-track or equivalent faculty positions. The program will provide independent NIH research support during this transition to help awardees establish independent research programs in areas supported by the NIH HEAL InitiativeSM.

The purpose of this funding opportunity announcement (FOA) is to establish Centers to support research that will accelerate the translational use of Microphysiological Systems (MPS) in drug development through regulatory acceptance and adoption for industrial use, by establishing MPS that are fit-for-purpose for industry needs and have specific defined contexts of use (CoUs) and will be developed with consideration of applicable expectations to achieve regulatory approval. For this FOA, the term drugs refers to both human pharmacological and biological products unless otherwise specified. These Centers will further the development of MPS as drug development tools (DDTs) that, once qualified, will be made publicly and commercially available to fill unmet needs in drug development.
