Multi-family Energy Efficiency and Renewables

CSD modeled its Multi-Family Program to improve the energy efficiency of multi-family buildings and achieve greenhouse gas emission reductions. Each building is thoroughly assessed and evaluated both visually and through the use of diagnostic energy audit tools to determine a suite of greenhouse gas reducing energy efficiency and renewable energy measures for installation and living in common areas.

Farmworker Housing Energy Efficiency and Solar PV

The LIWP Farmworker Housing Component provides no-cost rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and energy efficiency upgrades to low-income farmworker households to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and lower energy costs for participants. The Farmworker Housing Component is part of CSD's Low-Income Weatherization Program (LIWP) and is designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by saving energy and generating clean renewable energy.

BayREN Multifamily Program

Energy Upgrade California’s Bay Area Multifamily Building Enhancements offers cash rebates and no-cost energy consulting for multifamily properties that undertake energy and water upgrades. The program assists in planning energy saving improvements designed to save 15% or more of a building’s energy and water usage and provides $750 per unit in rebates to help pay for the upgrade.

BayREN Home+ Program

You’ve found the right place to increase the comfort, health and energy efficiency of your home. BayREN Home+ offers cash rebates for your home improvements, plus certified contractors and support every step of the way.

BayREN Home+ is implemented by local county governments and available to homeowners and renters in nine counties:

Affordable Multifamily Financing Program

The Affordable Multifamily Financing program targets multifamily properties where at least 50% of the units are income restricted.

Like all of the programs highlighted on GoGreen Financing, the Affordable Multifamily Financing program is designed to encourage growth in private market lending and features a credit enhancement to help financing entities mitigate risk. It is designed to leverage and complement existing state and utility efforts to encourage affordable multifamily properties to install energy efficiency retrofits.

Climate Tech Finance program

The Air District’s Climate Tech Finance program offers subsidized financing for public and private facilities to adopt emerging technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Public-sector facilities can apply for loans ranging from $500,000 to $30 million, over up to 30-year terms.

Small businesses can apply for loan guarantees on loans of up to $20 million, with a maximum guarantee of $2.5 million. Projects may be eligible for up to 90 percent guarantees through this program.
