Farmworker Housing Energy Efficiency and Solar PV

The LIWP Farmworker Housing Component provides no-cost rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and energy efficiency upgrades to low-income farmworker households to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and lower energy costs for participants. The Farmworker Housing Component is part of CSD's Low-Income Weatherization Program (LIWP) and is designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by saving energy and generating clean renewable energy.

BayREN Water Bill Savings Program

This proven program helps municipal water utilities work with their customers to:

  • Provide water efficiency improvements with
    no up-front-cost.
  • Deliver immediate savings on utility bills.
  • Reduce water consumption to address current and future supply restrictions.
  • Meet current and upcoming state codes.

If you represent a water utility or local government in one of the nine Bay Area Counties, you may be eligible to participate in this innovative program.

The Bay Area Regional Network (BayREN) provides regional-scale energy efficiency programs and services to reduce carbon emissions and promote healthy, energy-efficient buildings and homes.

BayREN Home+ is implemented by local county governments and available to homeowners and renters in nine counties:

Assistance to High Energy Cost Communities

The Rural Utilities Service (RUS), an agency of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), announces the availability of up to $10 million in competitive grants to assist communities with extremely high energy costs. The grant funds may be used to acquire, construct, or improve energy generation, transmission, or distribution facilities serving communities where the average annual residential expenditure for home energy exceeds 275% of the national average.

Affordable Multifamily Financing Program

The Affordable Multifamily Financing program targets multifamily properties where at least 50% of the units are income restricted.

Like all of the programs highlighted on GoGreen Financing, the Affordable Multifamily Financing program is designed to encourage growth in private market lending and features a credit enhancement to help financing entities mitigate risk. It is designed to leverage and complement existing state and utility efforts to encourage affordable multifamily properties to install energy efficiency retrofits.

REAP Energy Audit and Renewable Energy Development Assistance Program

This program assists rural small businesses and agricultural producers by conducting and promoting energy audits and providing Renewable Energy Development Assistance (REDA).

The assistance must be provided to agricultural producers and rural small businesses. Rural small businesses must be located in eligible rural areas. This restriction does not apply to agricultural producers. Assistance provided must consist of:

  • Energy audits.
  • Renewable energy technical assistance.
  • Renewable energy site assessments.
