Description

The U.S. Department of State Secretary's Office of Global Women's Issues (S/GWI) announces a Request for Statements of Interest (RSOI) outlining concepts and capacity to design, implement, manage, and evaluate a project that will build a movement of girl-centered climate action, leveraging the power and potential of girls, in all their diversity, to shape and inform policies and actions to combat climate change and related social and environmental issues. Competitive RSOIs may propose a consortium of U.S.-based and/or international organizations with global reach, with one lead organization serving as the primary recipient/applicant. Consortium members must demonstrate strong ties to local non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and/or community-based organizations (CBOs) across chosen countries (particularly those specified for “In-Country Programming”) who can serve as local partners as appropriate. Project activities will support girls in communities across different regions of the world with tailored training in science and technology as well as holistic support in economic skills and social and emotional learning to further their innovations in solutions to the negative effects of climate change. The project will also form a global coalition of young innovators and change agents, supporting them to engage in policy and decision-making at local and international levels. Project activities must support girls from historically marginalized groups, particularly girls from groups and geographies that are disproportionately affected by climate change.
