Description

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) intends to issue, on behalf of the Wind Energy Technologies Office (WETO), a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) entitled “Bipartisan Infrastructure Law FOA to Address Key Deployment Challenges for Offshore, Land-Based, and Distributed Wind.” The activities under this FOA support Bipartisan Infrastructure Law section 41007(b)(1): Wind Energy and the broader government-wide approach to enable the innovations needed to advance U.S. wind systems, reduce the cost of electricity, and accelerate the deployment of wind power, maximize the benefits of the clean energy transition as the nation works to curb the climate crisis, empower workers, and advance environmental justice. It is anticipated that the FOA may include the following Topic Areas: 1. High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) for Offshore Wind 2. Advancing Deployment of Distributed Wind (ADD) 3. Wind Energy Social Science Research 4. Bat Deterrent Technology Development EERE plans to issue the FOA on or about November 2022 via the EERE eXCHANGE website https://eere-eXCHANGE.energy.gov/. If Applicants wish to receive official notifications and information from EERE regarding this FOA, they should register in EERE eXCHANGE. When the FOA is released, applications will be accepted only through EERE eXCHANGE. Please note that these dates are tentative and subject to change. This is a NOI only. EERE may issue a FOA as described herein, may issue a FOA that is significantly different than the FOA described herein, or EERE may not issue a FOA at all.
