The Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District offers an incentive program to residents that live within the District to replace their old, non-EPA certified wood stove, fireplace insert, or open-hearth fireplace with a newer, cleaner burning device, such as an EPA certified wood stove/insert or a natural gas, propane, or electric heating device.

Yolo-Solano AQMD Clean School Bus Program No Due Date Given Varies

Older school buses can produce high amounts of air pollution, much of which poses a risk to the children riding in those buses. The Yolo-Solano AQMD has made cost-effective bus retrofits and replacements a funding priority. Our Clean School Bus Program improves air quality and helps protect the health of children and others who work or live where school buses operate.

Yolo-Solano AQMD Clean Air Funds No Due Date Given Varies

Yolo-Solano AQMD’s Clean Air Funds Program offers grants for projects designed to reduce emissions from mobile sources. Private businesses, non-profit organizations and public agencies are eligible for Clean Air Funds.

Projects that have been awarded Clean Air Funds include:

  • Replacing or retrofitting diesel trucks and off-road equipment that do not qualify for other regional programs
  • New electric or alternative fuel vehicles
  • Design and construction of pedestrian and bicycle facilities
  • Transit projects
  • Public information and education programs

Yolo-Solano AQMD Carl Moyer Program No Due Date Given Varies

Businesses within the Yolo-Solano AQMD can apply for substantial grants to help fund projects that will upgrade emission controls on heavy duty off-road vehicles through the Carl Moyer Program.

Locally, the Moyer Program is administered through the Sacramento Metropolitan AQMD to maximize regional efficiency. Eligible projects include emission control upgrades of agricultural equipment (tractors, balers, irrigation pumps) and construction equipment (tractors, backhoes).  For more information about the program, visit SMAQMD’s Moyer page.

Vanpool Voucher Incentive Program No Due Date Given Varies

The Vanpool Voucher Incentive Program (VVIP) provides subsidies to Valley residents to participate in vanpools in lieu of using single occupant vehicle commutes. The purpose of the VVIP is to encourage commuter rideshare practices among frequent long distance (greater than 20 miles) riders in the San Joaquin Valley. Valley Clean Energy EV Rebates No Due Date Given Varies

Tune In Tune Up Car Repair Program No Due Date Given Varies

The San Joaquin Valley is home to a large number of older cars, many of which do not meet state emissions standards. Tune In & Tune Up helps vehicle owners take voluntary action to improve air quality by subsidizing expensive smog repairs.

Truck Replacement Program No Due Date Given Varies

The District is currently accepting applications to replace on-road diesel trucks with cleaner technology units or to expand fleets with the cleanest technology available. Truck replacement projects that will accelerate emission reductions in low income and disadvantaged communities experiencing greater air quality impacts may receive priority through the project review and selection process. Projects funded under this program must achieve emission reductions not required by law or regulation. Please note that Truck Replacement Program is not a rebate program, any new truck purchased prior to contract execution is ineligible. Transformative Climate Communities Program $35,000,000.00

The Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) Program provides unique opportunities to address climate change mitigation and adaptation together at the community scale.  Implementation Grants fund transportation, greening, energy, water, waste, housing, and health projects together.  Planning Grants fund community-led development of projects and goals to improve resilience.  TCC applications are developed through intensive community engagement.
