Notice of Funding Opportunity for Standard Development for Bus Exportable Power Systems (BEPS). The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announces the availability of $1 million of Fiscal Year 2021 funds to one or more projects for development of national standards for BEPS. FTA is seeking applications for projects that will enable public transportation agencies, communities and states to access resilient and flexible power options through bus fleet vehicles during major power disruptions. The major goal of the program is to develop national interoperable BEPS standards – working with FTA, industry stakeholders and technical partners – so that different manufacturers’ systems can use the same technology base and applications for BEPS solutions.

The Department is combining three major discretionary grant programs into one Multimodal Projects Discretionary Grant (MPDG) opportunity to reduce the burden for state and local applicants and increase the pipeline of “shovel-worthy” projects that are now possible because of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. These investments will create good-paying jobs, grow the economy, reduce emissions, improve safety, make our transportation more sustainable and resilient, and expand transportation options in rural America and other underserved communities. Thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, this funding will help enable more communities to build vital infrastructure projects that also strengthen supply chains and reduce costs for American families.The National Infrastructure Project Assistance (MEGA) program was created in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to fund major projects that are too large or complex for traditional funding programs. The program will provide grants on a competitive basis to support multijurisdictional or regional projects of significance that may also cut across multiple modes of transportation. Eligible projects could include highway, bridge, freight, port, passenger rail, and public transportation projects of national and regional significance. These could be bridges or tunnels connecting two states; new rail and transit lines that improve equity and reduce emissions; and freight hubs integrating ship, train and truck traffic while improving environmental justice. DOT will award 50 percent of funding to projects greater than $500 million in cost, and 50 percent to projects greater than $100 million but less than $500 million in cost. The program will receive up to $1 billion this year alone and be able to provide multi-year funding to projects.

The Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) Program provides unique opportunities to address climate change mitigation and adaptation together at the community scale.  Implementation Grants fund transportation, greening, energy, water, waste, housing, and health projects together.  Planning Grants fund community-led development of projects and goals to improve resilience.  TCC applications are developed through intensive community engagement.

The California Clean Fuel Reward is available to anyone who buys or leases a new electric vehicle with a battery capacity greater than 5 kWh from a participating automotive retailer. The customer must register the vehicle in California and the customer must reside in California. 

The California Air Resources Board and your electric utility want to make it easier to own an EV. That’s why we’re providing the California Clean Fuel Reward to people who purchase or lease an eligible* new Battery Electric (BEV) or Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) vehicle at participating automotive retailers. This is on top of any applicable federal, state, and local incentives, rebates, and tax credits.

The purpose of this solicitation is to fund a design-build competition that will challenge multi-disciplinary project teams to design and build a mixed-use development – using cutting-edge energy technologies, tools and construction practices - that is affordable, equitable, emissions-free and resilient to climate change impacts and extreme weather events.

The South Coast Air Quality Management District (South Coast AQMD) and the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC) has established a residential Electric Vehicle (EV) charging incentive program to offset Level 2 (240v) EV charger hardware costs. This program will be available to residents within the South Coast AQMD’s four-county jurisdiction.

The program will provide an incentive to buy-down the cost of residential chargers, which typically range from $400-$800. The program is administered on a first-come, first-served basis and provides up to a $250 rebate or the cost paid for the charger, whichever is lower.  Low-income residents can qualify for a total rebate of $500 or the cost paid for the charger, whichever is lower

One of South Coast AQMD’s roles is to encourage the immediate use of commercially available, low, near-zero and zero emissions mobile and stationary technologies.  A variety of financial incentives, which include grants for incremental funding, subsidies or vouchers, are designed to promote voluntary introduction of new technologies on an accelerated schedule.  These incentives also provide manufacturers with justification to gear up for mass production of cleaner technologies.

The Locomotive Program provides incentive funds for the replacement of old high-polluting locomotives to new Tier 4 units. Alternative switcher locomotives include genset locomotives (Multi-engine switcher) and electric-hybrid locomotives. Multi-engine switchers are typically powered by two or three off-road engines, while electric hybrids use a small diesel engine to charge batteries that provide locomotive power.

The District is currently accepting applications to replace on-road diesel trucks with cleaner technology units or to expand fleets with the cleanest technology available. Truck replacement projects that will accelerate emission reductions in low income and disadvantaged communities experiencing greater air quality impacts may receive priority through the project review and selection process. Projects funded under this program must achieve emission reductions not required by law or regulation. Please note that Truck Replacement Program is not a rebate program, any new truck purchased prior to contract execution is ineligible. The Proposition 1B: Goods Movement Emission Reduction Program (GMERP) provides incentives to quickly reduce air pollution emissions and health risk from freight movement along California's trade corridors. Financial incentives will be provided to owners of equipment used in freight movement to upgrade to cleaner technologies through truck replacement or engine replacement. Projects funded under this Program must achieve emission reductions not required by law or regulation. Please note that the Proposition 1B Goods Movement Emission Reduction Program is not a rebate program. Any new truck or new engine purchased, or installed prior to contract execution is ineligible.
