GWP’s Smart Home Energy and Water Saving Rebate Program helps our customers save money on energy and water bills by offering rebates on eligible products. Most of the eligible products must be ENERGY STAR® qualified, so look for the ENERGY STAR symbol when making your purchase. Please keep in mind the following:

• You must be a Glendale Water & Power customer and the product you purchase must be installed in a residence serviced by Glendale Water & Power.
• Rebates will be issued in the form of a bill credit which will appear on your GWP bill in 1 to 2 billing cycles.
• Applications must be submitted no more than 12 months from the date of purchase. 
• Rebates apply only to the products listed below.
• Online purchases will receive an Outside of Glendale rebate value.
• Other terms and conditions apply.

Energy Efficiency Rebates 

Customers in our service area can take advantage of MID's Energy Efficiency rebates.  Rebates include incentives for ENERGY STAR® appliances, compact fluorescent lights and more.

The California Public Utilities Commission authorized the California investor-owned utilities (PG&E®, SDG&E®, SCE® and SoCalGas®) to collaborate with certain state agencies in the development of energy efficiency financing programs and to assist in building awareness about them. Consumers are encouraged to explore lending options for the financing of energy improvements that can make homes and businesses more efficient and comfortable.

Energy Rebates:

The City of Palo Alto (CPAU) offers rebates on home appliances and systems that can increase your home's energy efficiency, help reduce your utility bills as well as improve the comfort of your home.

Water Rebates:

CPAU Partners with Valley Water to deliver rebates for energy efficient landscaping upgrades as well as products and projects that reduce stormwater runoff and conserve water.

Things to know

• You can Install the measures yourself or hire a contractor of your choice.
• Express Energy Solutions can pay rebates up to $20,000 per account, per year. 

For large or complex projects not eligible for the Express Energy Solutions program, consider our Custom Incentives. If you are a small to mid-sized business and need help identifying products that can reduce your bill and locating contractors who can install them, consider SMUD's Complete Energy Solutions program.

Who's eligible?

• SMUD customers who are currently on a commercial billing rate
• Property managers of a multi-family complex operating as a business

How does it work?

• Review our EES Procedures Manual and Rebates for qualifying products, eligibility and performance requirements.
• View and select your measures from our list of qualified products.
• Note: Rebates larger than $5,000 require pre-approval. For rebates under $5,000, apply online within 90 days of installation.
• Submit your rebate application along with required documents to smud.org/MyAccount.

Whether you choose to be your own contractor, or hire a professional contractor, all parties need to first set up a My Account at smud.org in order to apply for a rebate.

The Victorville Municipal Utility Services (VMUS) Energy Efficiency (EE) Program
outlines the parameters for customers to receive incentives and rebates for the installation
of eligible energy savings measures, equipment or systems, and for VMUS to receive
direct funding for eligible projects that benefit VMUS customers through improved
safety, system integrity, energy efficiency, conservation and/or research and development

In 1975, the City of Santa Clara established the nation's first municipal solar utility. Under the Solar Water Heating Program, the Santa Clara Water & Sewer Utilities Department supplies, installs and maintains solar water heating systems for residents and businesses. In addition, the city has also installed solar energy equipment for a number of its own facilities.

Solar equipment is available from the city for heating swimming pools, process water and domestic hot water. The hardware (solar collectors, controls and storage tanks) is owned and maintained by the city under a rental agreement. The renter pays an initial installation fee and a monthly utility fee. For solar pool heating systems, the installation cost is $4,128 plus $242 per panel. There is a monthly service charge for all systems based on the number of panels. Pool systems are billed a monthly service charge for six billing cycles per year (generally from April to September), although the system is available for use all year.
