AmeriCorps grants are awarded to eligible organizations proposing to engage AmeriCorps members in evidence-based or evidence-informed interventions to strengthen communities. An AmeriCorps member is an individual who engages in community service through an approved national service position. Members may receive a living allowance and other benefits while serving. Upon successful completion of their service, members earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award from the National Service Trust that members can use to pay for higher education expenses or apply to qualified student loans.

The Rural Housing Service (RHS) announces that it is soliciting applications under its Housing Preservation Grant (HPG) program. The HPG program is a grant program which provides qualified public agencies, private nonprofit organizations, which may include but not be limited to, Faith-Based and Community Organizations, and other eligible entities grant funds to assist very low- and low-income homeowners in repairing and rehabilitating their homes in rural areas. In addition, the HPG program assists rental property owners and cooperative housing complexes in repairing and rehabilitating their units if they agree to make such units available to low- and very low-income persons. This action is taken to comply with Agency regulations found in 7 CFR part 1944, subpart N, which require the Agency to announce the opening and closing dates for receipt of preapplications for HPG funds from eligible applicants. The intended effect of this Notice is to provide eligible organizations notice of these dates.

This program helps qualified non-profits create a revolving loan fund (RLF) that can provided financing for the extension and improvement of water and waste disposal systems in rural areas.

Community Air Protection funds allow for immediate actions to improve the air quality of the most impacted communities across the state, while the other aspects of AB 617 are developed and implemented. Partnering with communities is essential to the success of these incentives, and both the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and air districts are looking to local community members and groups to help identify funding priorities

This combination of service, training, and follow-up mentoring together serve the basis of this exciting funding opportunity.Older adult workers, those age 55 and older, may find it challenging to move to a new career of interest, or return to the workforce after being absent for a period of time. There are many reasons for this challenge –ranging from lack of support for older workers, to age discrimination, or the perception that older workers are not considered viable candidates for a position. Whatever the reason, there remain barriers to workers aged 55 and older securing and retaining employment.AmeriCorps Seniors is publishing this funding notice with the purpose of creating the AmeriCorps Seniors Workforce Development Senior Demonstration Program (herein referred to as WFD) to support projects focused on supporting older adults as they seek to secure employment in professional, skilled labor, or para-professional careers. In addition, AmeriCorps Seniors is partnering with Public Health AmeriCorps, which seeks to support projects that address the public health needs of local communities, advance health equity and create pathways to public health careers for older adults. Applicants that propose public health careers programming would apply via the Public Health Careers Track. All other career programming will apply via the non-public health careers track. Through WFD funding opportunities, applicants must demonstrate how they will engage adults ages 55 and older, using service opportunities, certification, training, and mentoring as the avenue that will lead to employment in skilled, professional, and/or para-professional career employment.

Through the Native Nations and Indigenous Elders SDP funding opportunity, applicants must demonstrate how they will engage adults ages 55 and older to address one or more of the Native Nations & Indigenous Elders SDP priorities.

SUMMARY: VA is announcing the availability of approximately $15 million per year for up to 2 years, pending availability of funding and grantee performance, in new grants under the case management component of the VA Homeless Providers Grant and Per Diem (GPD) program. Applications for grants are being accepted from eligible entities to support case management services. These time-limited case management services will improve retention of housing by Veterans who are at risk of becoming homeless or who were previously homeless and are transitioning to permanent housing from programs such as VA’s Homeless Providers GPD program or VA’s Health Care for Homeless Veterans (HCHV) Contracted Residential Services (CRS) program. VA anticipates that the grants will be for a period of 2 years, starting in fiscal year (FY) 2024 on October 1, 2023, and ending on September 30, 2025. VA anticipates awarding approximately 100 grants for up to a total of approximately 150 full-time equivalent case (FTE) manager positions nationwide. Awards may be up to $300,000 total costs per FTE case manager position, with funding requests broken out by year 1 and year 2. This NOFO contains information concerning the program, application process, available funding, selection criteria and award process. DATES: Applications for grants must be received by the GPD National Program Office no later than 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday, May 4, 2023. In the interest of fairness to all, this deadline is firm as to date and hour. VA will treat any application received after the deadline as ineligible. Applicants should take this practice into account and submit their materials early to avoid the risk of unanticipated delays, computer service outages or other submission-related problems that might result in ineligibility. The Community Assistance Program - State Support Services element (CAP-SSSE) program provides funding to States to provide technical assistance to communities in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and to evaluate community performance in implementing NFIP floodplain management activities. Designation, duties, and responsibilities of State Coordinating Agencies are found in 44 CFR 60.25. These regulations identify the states commitment to the minimum floodplain management criteria and to demonstrate the capability and responsibility to implement the program. In this way, CAP-SSSE helps to; ensure that the flood loss reduction goals of the NFIP are met, build state and community floodplain management expertise and capability, and leverage state knowledge and expertise in working with their communities.
