The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announces the opportunity to apply for $38 million in competitive grants under the Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 Passenger Ferry Grant Program (Ferry Program) (Federal Assistance Listing #20.507). Of that amount, $4 million is available only for low or zero-emission ferries or ferries using electric battery or fuel cell components and the infrastructure to support such ferries. As required by Federal public transportation law, funds will be awarded competitively to designated recipients or eligible direct recipients of Urbanized Area Formula funds to support capital projects to improve existing passenger ferry service, establish new ferry service, and repair and modernize ferry boats, terminals, and related facilities and equipment.

The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Office of Justice Services (OJS), Indian Highway Safety Program (IHSP) solicits proposals for implementing traffic safety programs and projects which are designated to reduce the number of traffic crashes, deaths, injuries and property damage within these populations. Indian Highway Safety Grants are reimbursable grants available to federally recognized tribes.

VALE improves airport air quality and provides air quality credits for future airport development. Created in 2004, VALE helps airport sponsors meet their state-related air quality responsibilities under the Clean Air Act. Through VALE, airport sponsors can use Airport Improvement Program (AIP) funds and Passenger Facility Charges (PFCs) to finance low emission vehicles, refueling and recharging stations, gate electrification, and other airport air quality improvements.

As of September 2018, VALE grants have funded 105 projects at 51 airports. Details can be found in the project summary below. VALE grants are expected to reduce ozone emissions by 1,192 tons per year for the next 5 years. This is equivalent to removing 66,550 cars and trucks off the road each year.

The District’s 2020 DMV Grant Voucher Program offers financial incentive in the form of a voucher for the purchase of a new eligible lower-emitting vehicle.  Applications are processed first-come first-served and vouchers issued accordingly until funds are exhausted.  Voucher awards and associated new vehicle emission classification requirements are as follows:

• $4,000 for purchase of a Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) with EPA Smog Score of 10.
• $2,000 for purchase of a Partial Zero Emission Vehicle (PZEV) with EPA Smog Score of 8 or 9.
• $1,000 for purchase of a Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (SULEV) with EPA Smog Score of 6 or 7.

The Tehama County Air Pollution Control District (Air District) is currently accepting application packets for Year 22 of the Carl Moyer Program and Year 3 of the FARMER Program. 

In Tehama County the Carl Moyer Program and FARMER Program provide grant funding for qualifying projects. Applicants must obtain approval and have a signed, executed contract from the Air District prior to purchase and installation of any qualifying equipment. Any equipment purchased or installed prior to contract execution is ineligible. Please note that the Carl Moyer Program and FARMER Program are NOT rebate programs.

One of South Coast AQMD’s roles is to encourage the immediate use of commercially available, low, near-zero and zero emissions mobile and stationary technologies.  A variety of financial incentives, which include grants for incremental funding, subsidies or vouchers, are designed to promote voluntary introduction of new technologies on an accelerated schedule.  These incentives also provide manufacturers with justification to gear up for mass production of cleaner technologies.

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announces the opportunity to apply for $8.75 million in competitive grants for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 Public Transportation on Indian Reservations (Tribal Transit) Program. As required by Federal public transportation law, funds will be awarded competitively for any purpose eligible under FTA’s Formula Grants for Rural Areas Program, including planning, capital, and operating assistance for tribal public transit services in rural areas. FTA may award additional funding that is made available to the program prior to the announcement of project selections.

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announces the opportunity to apply for $600 million in Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 and 2023 Section 5337 State of Good Repair Program funds (Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance #20.525) authorized for competitively selected rail vehicle replacement projects. As required by Federal public transportation law and subject to appropriations, funds will be awarded competitively to States and local governmental authorities to assist in the funding of capital projects to replace rail rolling stock.

This funding opportunity solicits applications for fiscal year (FY) 2023 United States Marine Highway Program (USMHP) grants. Funds for FY 2023 USMHP grants will be awarded on a competitive basis to assist in funding eligible projects for the purpose of developing, expanding, or promoting marine highway transportation. This opportunity announces the availability of up to $12,423,000 million in funding for grants under this program and establishes selection criteria and application requirements. All USMHP grant recipients must meet all applicable Federal requirements, including domestic content (“Buy America”) requirements.
