One of South Coast AQMD’s roles is to encourage the immediate use of commercially available, low, near-zero and zero emissions mobile and stationary technologies.  A variety of financial incentives, which include grants for incremental funding, subsidies or vouchers, are designed to promote voluntary introduction of new technologies on an accelerated schedule.  These incentives also provide manufacturers with justification to gear up for mass production of cleaner technologies.

The 1890 CBG is intended to strengthen teaching, research and extension programs in the food and agricultural sciences by building the institutional capacities of the 1890 Land-Grant Institutions, including Tuskegee University, West Virginia State University, and Central State University (per Section 7129 of Pub. L. 113-79). The CBG program supports projects that strengthen teaching programs in the food and agricultural sciences in the need areas of curriculum design and materials development, faculty development, and others. CBG supports projects that strengthen research and extension programs in need areas of studies and experimentation, extension program development support systems, and others. The CBG also support integrated project grants. The intent of this initiative is to increase and strengthen food and agriculture sciences at the 1890s through integration of education, research and extension. Applications submitted to CBG must address at least one of the following NIFA strategic goals: sustainable bioenergy; food security; childhood obesity prevention; or food safety. The Cochran Fellowship Program is requesting the design and delivery of training activities for Cochran Fellowship Fellows.Since 1984, the U.S. Congress has made funds available to the Cochran Fellowship Program for training agriculturalists from middle-income countries, emerging markets, and emerging democracies. Training opportunities are for senior and mid-level specialists and administrators working in agricultural trade and policy, agribusiness development, management, animal, plant, and food sciences, extension services, agricultural marketing, and many other areas. Individuals selected for Cochran trainings come from both the public and private sectors. All training occurs in the United States. Training programs are designed and organized in conjunction with U.S. universities, USDA and other government agencies, agribusinesses, and consultants. The Cochran Fellowship Program is part of the United States Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service. Since its start in 1984, the Cochran Fellowship Program has provided U.S.-based training for over 18,900 international participants from 126 countries worldwide.Training objectives must support the agricultural extension goals of the Cochran Fellowship Program to assist eligible countries to develop agricultural systems necessary to meet the food and fiber needs of their domestic populations and/or strengthen and enhance trade linkages between eligible countries and agricultural interests in the United States by providing fellowships to individuals from eligible countries who specialize in agriculture for study in the United States.In general, USDA will identify Fellows based on country-specific topics of importance to the international agricultural trading system and place them with U.S. institutions for 1-2 week intensive programs. These programs are expected to contribute to the strategic goals and objectives of the institutions through a hands-on experience in a “real-world” international trade scenario, providing an opportunity for application of research, extension, or teaching agendas. Pennsylvania Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is accepting applications from non-profit community groups within designated urban areas for projects to receive funds under the People’s Garden Initiative (PGI). The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) allocated funds for the PGI to provide “other assistance to maintain and improve food and agricultural supply chain resiliency” by educating the public about ways that gardening and growing food locally can strengthen food supply chain resiliency. In the current fiscal year, funding is available in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the surrounding metropolitan area to support food-producing gardens with an educational component. Pennsylvania NRCS can enter into cooperative agreements from $10,000 up to $75,000 each to fund projects that meet the criteria described below. Under the MAP, FAS enters into assistance agreements with eligible Participants to share the cost of certain marketing and promotion activities designed to foster healthy exports and market diversification by encouraging the development, maintenance, and expansion of diverse commercial export markets for United States agricultural commodities and products. Assistance may be provided for either generic or brand promotion activities. While activities generally take place overseas, reimbursable activities may also take place in the United States. Financial assistance under the MAP is made available on a competitive basis, and applications are reviewed against the evaluation criteria contained herein. FAS endeavors to enter into agreements with eligible Participants to cover as broad an array of agricultural commodity sectors as possible and to maximize the likelihood that benefits generated will be available throughout the relevant agricultural sectors and that no single entity gains an undue advantage or sole benefit from program activities. All U.S. agricultural commodities, except tobacco, are eligible for consideration. Applicants should refer to and have a common understanding of the MAP programmatic regulations,7 CFR Part 1485, and the definitions contained within to fully understand this opportunity.

The TASC program is designed to assist U.S. organizations by providing funding for projects that seek to remove, resolve, or mitigate existing or potential sanitary, phytosanitary, or technical barriers that prohibit or threaten the export of U.S. specialty crops. The TASC program is administered by personnel of the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) on behalf of the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC).

To support the efforts of States, Tribal governments, and research institutions to promote the domestic maple syrup industry through the following activities:Promotion of research and education related to maple syrup production.Promotion of natural resource sustainability in the maple syrup industry.Market promotion for maple syrup and maple-sap products.Encouragement of owners and operators of privately held land containing species of trees in the genus Acer:to initiate or expand maple-sugaring activities on the land; orto voluntarily make the land available, including by lease or other means, for access by the public for maple-sugaring activities.

This program provides incentives for engine replacement (repower) of engines/motors used to power agricultural irrigation pumps. Funds are provided on a first come, first serve basis and applicants must obtain approval and have a signed, executed contract from the SJVAPCD prior to purchase of new equipment. Any equipment purchased prior to contract execution is ineligible as this is not a rebate program.
