Corpsmembers aged 18 – 25 years old complete a year of paid service and receive on-the-job training while completing projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.  California Conservation Corps (CCC) projects include reforestation, forest fuel reduction, habitat restoration, urban greening and community forestry.

Individuals can apply to participate in the Forest Health CCC program and organizations can apply to provide projects for the Forest Health CCC program.

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to support studies that will identify, develop, and/or test strategies for overcoming barriers to the adoption, adaptation, integration, scale-up, and sustainability of evidence-based interventions, practices, programs, tools, treatments, guidelines, and policies. Studies that promote equitable dissemination and implementation of evidence-based interventions among underrepresented communities are encouraged. Conversely, there is a benefit in understanding circumstances that create a need to stop or reduce (de-implement) the use of practices that are ineffective, unproven, low-value, or harmful. In addition, studies to advance dissemination and implementation research methods and measures are encouraged. All applications must be within the scope of the mission of one of the Institutes/Centers listed above.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement encourages applications using community-engaged research methods to investigate the potential health risks of environmental exposures of concern to the community and to implement an environmental public health action plan based on research findings. The overall goal is to inform and support efforts to prevent or reduce exposure to harmful environmental exposures and improve the health of a community.

THE PURPOSE OF THIS FOA IS TO SUPPORT RESEARCH THAT ACCELERATES THE DISCOVERY AND DEVELOPMENT OF SAFE AND EFFECTIVE THERAPEUTICS FOR OUD IN PATIENTS WITH CO-OCCURRING COMD. THE THERAPEUTIC INTERVENTIONS MAY INCLUDE MEDICATIONS, DEVICES, OR DIGITAL THERAPEUTICS. This BRAIN Initiative FOA is to further develop molecular tools of high impact that are targetable to brain cell types for the monitoring and manipulation of neural circuits in experimental animals. This FOA is part of the BRAIN Initiative Armamentarium for Brain Cell Access transformative project. This will support iterative improvement of molecular payloads capable of monitoring and manipulating neural cell activity and that can be delivered to specific brain cell types using targeting technologies.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) intends to support a Coordinating Unit for Biostatistics, Informatics, and Engagement (CUBIE) that will be composed of four components to establish respectively (1) a common sequencing data processing pipeline, (2) a common imaging data processing pipeline, (3) a comprehensive brain cell knowledge base, and (4) an engaging and outreach component to coordinate the research within and beyond BICAN. The overall goals of CUBIE are to (i) enable the exploration of large-scale brain cell atlas data and knowledge, and inspire research in brain function and disorders; and (ii) ensure research rigor and data reproducibility by making the data to be findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable, and the process transparent. An application is expected to propose only one of the above four respective components.

The purpose of this funding opportunity announcement (FOA) is to solicit applications that further examine and characterize molecular underpinnings surrounding telomere status and accompanying biological pathways in response to environmental insults. Specifically, the intent is to further stimulate the field on how general telomere maintenance modulates downstream biological pathway(s) leading to cellular and organismal dysfunction. It is anticipated that proposed studies examining exposure affects at telomeric regions can actually potentiate early onset of age-related diseases. This FOA ultimately seeks to identify key mechanistic insights into telomere dynamics and how this could better dissect the interplay between environmental exposures at this vulnerable site contribute to disease (e.g., cancer, CVD, and other age-related outcomes, such as neurodegeneration).

The All of Us Research Program (All of Us) within the Office of the Director (OD) encourages investigators to apply for grant applications that will advance research in high-priority mission areas of the Institutes, Centers, and Offices (ICOs) through two companion FOAs (1) one to use standard methods and approaches to analyze currently available data within the All of Us Research Programs Researcher Workbench and (2) one to develop new methods, models, and tools and use them to analyze data in the Researcher Workbench. The new tools will be made broadly available to the scientific community. This FOA uses the R03 grant mechanism to support data analysis using standard methods, while the companion FOA (link) uses the R21 mechanism for new tool development and application.

It can be a powerful incentive for businesses to take advantage of government assistance to conserve resources and save money. It also engages the public to patronize businesses that operate more sustainably. The Green Business Program can also help government agencies meet City/County sustainability goals through GHG reductions, resource conservation mandates. These goals might those mandated in a Climate Action Plan or outlined in solid waste diversion or water conservation targets. A Green Business Program can also improve environmental compliance by encouraging businesses to adopt numerous “beyond compliance” related to waste reduction, pollution prevention, and water conservation.
