The Low-Income Weatherization Program's (LIWP's) Farmworker Housing Component installs no-cost energy efficiency improvements and/or solar PV systems for qualified farmworker households. Funded by the State of California to help households save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the program lowers energy costs for families and makes other improvements to improve the livability of housing. 

Launched in 2019, the LIWP Farmworker Housing Component provides services in the 12 counties in California that have the highest farmworker populations, including:

The South Coast Air Quality Management District (South Coast AQMD) and the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC) has established a residential Electric Vehicle (EV) charging incentive program to offset Level 2 (240v) EV charger hardware costs. This program will be available to residents within the South Coast AQMD’s four-county jurisdiction.

The program will provide an incentive to buy-down the cost of residential chargers, which typically range from $400-$800. The program is administered on a first-come, first-served basis and provides up to a $250 rebate or the cost paid for the charger, whichever is lower.  Low-income residents can qualify for a total rebate of $500 or the cost paid for the charger, whichever is lower

The program offers deep discounts and, for low income qualified, may be free to some. See the FAQ below more details. In the process of reducing emissions from wood burning devices, South Coast AQMD is offering an incentive for residents, renters (with landlord approval), or landlords of a rental property in the areas surrounding cities of Riverside and San Bernardino or the community of Boyle Heights to replace their wood burning device. If you are a resident of one of these areas you may be eligible to receive funds for an installation of a cleaner burning alternative.

Aquatic habitat conservation projects under the National Fish Habitat Partnership (NFHP) program must protect, restore, and enhance fish and aquatic habitats, as outlined in the National Fish Habitat Action Plan (Action Plan). Projects under this program, directly or indirectly, support and promote public access to recreational fishing opportunities. Funded projects may be carried out by Fish Habitat Partnerships (FHPs) recognized by the National Fish Habitat Board (Board), in cooperation with their partners. The mission of the National Bycatch Reduction Engineering Program (BREP) is to support the development of technological solutions and changes in fishing practices designed to minimize bycatch of fish and protected species (including Endangered Species Act-listed fish, marine mammals, seabirds, and sea turtles) and to reduce impacts to invertebrates (including sponges, deep-sea corals, and shallow (tropical) corals.) In addition, BREP may support projects that quantify post-release mortality and identify ways to minimize mortality and injury of bycaught species (including post-release injury and mortality). Projects should produce outcomes that can directly influence management needs of federally managed living marine resources. For Fiscal Year 2023, NMFS anticipates that approximately $2,300,000 could be made available for approximately 10-15 projects that address bycatch research as identified in the Program Priority Section (I.B.1 - I.B.5).

The Public Affairs Office of the U.S. Consulate General in Jeddah is pleased to announce an open competition for Saudi exchange program alumni, not-for-profit, non-governmental organizations, think tanks, or academic institutions to organize and host the 2023 U.S. Exchange Program Alumni Conference in Jeddah. Please carefully follow all instructions below. All elements of this award are contingent on available funding. Eligibility is limited to those who qualify to receive U.S. awards and who have the ability to develop and implement the event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia within the timeframe indicated. The U.S. Consulate General in Jeddah encourages individuals and organizations that have not previously received international program funding from the U.S. government to apply. Applicants must have demonstrated expertise in one or more of [the following subject areas: innovation, organization of entrepreneurship training, and event planning. The Public Affairs Office invites proposals to plan, organize, and implement the U.S. Mission Saudi Arabia’s Annual Alumni Conference, including an inaugural reception, two days of workshops, and a closing event or dinner related to the conference’s central theme: fostering innovation. Subtopics can be varied and should be determined in consultation with the alumni community and U.S. Consulate staff. The conference will bring together up to 200 alumni of U.S. government sponsored exchange programs to reflect on their exchange programs, learn from their shared experiences strengthen their ongoing ties with the U.S. Mission, and inspire further engagement in their communities through a series of discussions and workshops. This event will be a cooperative agreement involving the efforts and participation of the U.S. Consulate General team in Jeddah in select workshops, planning, and decision making. NMFS, in coordination with the New England and Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Councils (Councils), is soliciting proposals under the Monkfish Research Set Aside (RSA) Program. Projects funded under the Monkfish RSA Program must enhance the knowledge of the monkfish fishery resource or contribute to the body of information on which monkfish management decisions are made. Priority will be given to proposals that investigate research priorities developed by the Council, which are detailed under the Program Priorities section of this announcement.Successful applicants will be awarded monkfish RSA days-at-sea (DAS). No federal funds are provided for research under this notification. The U.S. Embassy Namibia under the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to carry out a new cohort of the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE). The Public Diplomacy Section invites proposals from non-profit organizations, civil society organizations, and U.S. government alumni organizations to design and implement an entrepreneurship program that equips women entrepreneurs with skills and knowledge to grow their businesses and adapt to adverse economic situations while growing a local network of women-led businesses. The intended program should empower women entrepreneurs to realize their full economic potential. Participants of the AWE program will take part in facilitated in-person and virtual sessions with established Namibian and American women entrepreneurs, alumni of U.S.-funded exchange programs, and other experts from different fields that enrich the AWE experience. Applicants must include the online interactive DreamBuilder course as part of the proposal. The DreamBuilder curriculum teaches the skills and knowledge needed to start and grow a business. Additionally, proposals should provide a detailed program and timelines for AWE participants. The program may be held in several locations running cohorts of up to 30 participants and should have a strong American component.
