This funding opportunity announcement is designed to support biomedical data repositories. Biomedical data repositories under this announcement should have the primary function to ingest, archive, preserve, manage, distribute, and make accessible the data related to a particular system or systems. Support for data curation must be limited to that which improves the efficiency and accessibility of data ingestion, management, and use and reuse by the user communities.Support for software and tool development must be limited to that which provides essential functions or significantly increases the efficiency of operation of the repository. Applications that have a significant focus on software and tool development are not appropriate for this activity.

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to solicit grant applications that propose to: (1) support the maintenance and resource infrastructure enrichment for existing Environmental Epidemiology Cohorts (EECs) and to (2) enrich data management and data sharing activities to promote widespread data sharing and scientific collaborations to be inclusive of under-resourced minority-serving institutions and under-represented minority researchers.The ultimate goal is to maintain and maximize NIEHS cohort investments within the environmental epidemiology community by improving data collection on under-represented populations in environmental health studies, strengthening workforce diversity and promoting greater scientific collaboration.

The NIH ?Research With Activities Related to Diversity (ReWARD) Program's overarching goal is to enhance the breadth and geographical location of research and research-related activities supported by NIH. The ReWARD program provides support for the health-related research of scientists who are making a significant contribution to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) and who have no current NIH research project grant funding. The ReWARD program provides funding for both the scientific research and the DEIA activities of investigators. The grant will support scientific research in areas related to the programmatic interests of one or more of the participating NIH Institutes and Centers (ICs) and ongoing DEIA activities focused on enhancing diversity in the biomedical research enterprise within the United States and territories.

The Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation (SALC) Program fights climate change by protecting our productive farmlands and encouraging compact transit-oriented communities.

The SALC Program utilizes Cap-and-Trade proceeds to protect agricultural lands on the outskirts of cities and near residential neighborhoods from development.  The SALC program simultaneously supports California’s food security and encourages infill development and low-carbon transportation to curb sprawl.  Urban sprawl not only increases greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution, as people have to drive further to get where they need to go, but also encroaches on agricultural lands that both store carbon and sustain our economy.

The SLO County APCD's Alt Fuel Infrastructure Grant Program provides funding for Electric Vehicle Charging and Natural Gas Fueling Stations in San Luis Obispo County. 

This is a first-come, first-serve program and $60,000 is currently available for new, conversion of existing, and expansion to existing non-residential EV Charging and Natural Gas Fueling Stations. 

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announces the opportunity to apply for $3.5 million in Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 competitive grant funding to support transit services for 2021 Innovative Coordinated Access and Mobility (ICAM) pilot program. Under the ICAM pilot program, funds awarded will finance innovative capital projects for the transportation-disadvantaged, with the goal to improve the coordination of transportation services and non-emergency medical transportation services for underserved groups. As required by Federal public transportation law and subject to appropriations, funds will be awarded competitively to eligible applicants. Eligible applicants are State departments of transportation, designated recipients for Section 5310 funds, or local governmental entities that operate a public transportation service, or their eligible subrecipients that have the authority and technical capacity to implement a regional or statewide cost allocation pilot.

The purpose of this funding opportunity announcement (FOA) is to encourage behavioral intervention development research to test efficacy, conduct clinical trials, examine mechanisms of behavior change, determine dose-response, treatment optimization, and/or ascertain best sequencing of behavioral, combined, sequential, or integrated behavioral and pharmacological (1) drug abuse treatment interventions, including interventions for patients with comorbidities; (2) drug abuse treatment and adherence interventions; (3) drug abuse treatment and adherence interventions that utilize technologies to boost effects and increase implementability and sustainability; (4) interventions to prevent the acquisition or transmission of HIV infection among individuals in drug abuse treatment; (5) interventions to promote adherence to drug abuse treatment, HIV and addiction medications; and (6) interventions to treat substance misuse and chronic pain. Research of interest includes but is not limited to Stage II and Stage III efficacy research.

One of the Secretary of Labor's goals for the U.S. workforce is to build a modern, inclusive workforce. One of the Department’s strategic goals is to “Ensure Safe Jobs, Essential Protections, and Fair Workplaces.” MSHA’s role in accomplishing this objective is to “prevent fatalities, disease, and injury from mining, and secure safe and healthful working conditions for America’s miners.” The Secretary of Labor, through MSHA, may award grants to state, tribal, and territorial governments (including the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands) to assist them in developing and enforcing state mining laws and regulations, improve state workers’ compensation and mining occupational disease laws and programs, and improve safety and health conditions in the nation’s mines through Federal-state coordination and cooperation. MSHA recognizes that state training programs are a key source of mine safety and health training and education for individuals who work or will work at mines. MSHA encourages state training programs to prioritize health and safety training for small mining operations and underserved mines and miners within the mining industry[1], and to prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion. MSHA is also interested in supporting programs that emphasize training on miners’ statutory rights, including the right to be provided a safe working environment, to refuse an unsafe task, and to have a voice in the safety and health conditions at the mine. The Agency encourages grantees to address, in their training and education programs, occupational health hazards caused by exposures to respirable dust and crystalline silica, powered haulage and mobile equipment safety, mine emergency preparedness, mine rescue, electrical safety, contract and customer truck drivers, improving training for new and inexperienced miners, managers and supervisors performing mining tasks, pillar safety for underground mines, and falls from heights. The Agency encourages grantees to focus training programs on the causes and prevention of fatal accidents that have occurred in the mining industry. This program helps qualified non-profits create a revolving loan fund (RLF) that can provided financing for the extension and improvement of water and waste disposal systems in rural areas.

This funding opportunity announcement (FOA) seeks applicants experienced in the isolation and sequencing of RNA from brain-derived extracellular vesicles to develop a research resource for the Accelerating Medicines Partnership in Parkinson's Disease (AMP PD). Approximately 2400 blood samples will be provided for this project from existing Parkinson's disease and normal control cohorts that already have longitudinal clinical and sequencing data that is publicly available to interested researchers. It is intended that this resource will become a part of the AMP PD Knowledge Platform, where it will be broadly shared with the research community.
