This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) solicits applications for team-centric development and validation of innovative non-invasive imaging technologies that could have a transformative impact on the study of brain function/connectivity. Applications are expected to turn a novel concept into a functional prototype using this phased grant mechanism. The feasibility should be established by the end of its first phase and serve as a foundation for the transition to its second phase. Fully developing the technology into a functional prototype and validating it by in-vivo animal or human function/connectivity imaging are anticipated in the second phase. The research plan should provide a realistic timeline and tangible milestones to support the proposed development effort. Awards will be integrated into the BRAIN Non-Invasive Imaging Consortium, as a coordinated network on brain function/connectivity imaging.

The FY22 TBIPHRP IIRA is intended to support studies that will make an important contribution toward understanding, preventing, assessing, and treating psychological health conditions and/or TBI. Research projects may focus on any phase of research from basic laboratory research through translational research, including preclinical studies in animal models and human subjects, as well as correlative studies associated with an existing clinical trial.Applications should clearly demonstrate the project’s potential near-term and long-term outcome(s)/product(s) (knowledge and/or materiel) and how they will impact a critical problem or question in the field of research and/or patient care in the FY22 TBIPHRP IIRA Focus Areas(s) addressed. Research involving human subjects and human anatomical substances is permitted; however, this FY22 TBIPHRP IIRA may not be used to conduct clinical trials.A clinical trial is defined as a research study in which one or more human subjects are prospectively assigned to one or more interventions (which may include a placebo or another control) to evaluate the effects of the interventions on biomedical or behavioral health-related outcomes. The rationale for a research idea may be derived from a laboratory discovery, population-based studies, a clinician’s firsthand knowledge of patients, or anecdotal data. Applications must include relevant data that support the rationale and feasibly for the proposed study. These data may be unpublished or from published literature. Any unpublished, preliminary data provided should originate from the laboratory of the Principalor (PI) or members of the research team.

The Defense Sciences Office (DSO) at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is soliciting innovative research proposals for a directional source of muons produced at relevant energies and in sufficient quantities to support demonstrations of national security and scientific applications. Proposed research shall investigate the generation of directional muon beams with 10 GeV to 100 GeV energies and produce 10^6 to 10^8 muons, while showing a clear path to a practical design for a transportable system. Proposed research should investigate innovative approaches that enable revolutionary advances in science, devices, or systems. Specifically excluded is research that primarily results in evolutionary improvements to the existing state of practice.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) seeks applications for the Data Innovation and Coordinating Hub/Resource Center (hereafter referred to as the Innovation and Data Hub) for the Maternal Health Research Centers of Excellence initiative. This FOA runs in parallel with companion FOAs that seek applications for Research Centers of Excellence (RFA-HD-23-NNN) and an Implementation Science Hub/Resource Center (RFA-HD-23-NNN). It is expected that the Innovation and Data Hub will provide 1) a coordination infrastructure to foster communication and collaboration for participating Research Centers and the Implementation Science Hub under the Maternal Health Centers of Excellence initiative, 2) a centralized resource to support data collection, facilitate curation, and ensure high-quality data, and 3) provide cutting edge biomedical research informatics and data science expertise to maximize data comparability and facilitate data harmonization. The Innovation and Data Hub itself will not generate new experimental data, but rather will serve as a resource, analytical platform, and portal for available analytical and data tools.

An AmeriCorps member is an individual who engages in community service through an approved national service position. Members may receive a living allowance and other benefits while serving. Upon successful completion of their service, members earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award that they can use to pay for higher education expenses or apply to qualified student loans.

This funding opportunity announcement (FOA) invites applications for new ECHO Cohort Study Sites to extend and expand the capacity of the ECHO Cohort to further investigate the roles of a broad range of early exposures from society to biology, including the preconception period, on ECHOs five key child health outcome areaspre-, peri- and postnatal, upper and lower airways, obesity, neurodevelopment, and positive healthamong diverse populations. The objectives of this FOA are to solicit applications to 1) lead collaborative ECHO Cohort science, 2) recruit new pregnant participants from diverse populations, their resulting offspring, and, if available, the conceiving partner, 3) develop and implement the ECHO Cohort Preconception Pilot Study, and 4) implement the ECHO Cohort Data and Biospecimen Collection Protocol using the ECHO Cohort consortiums central data capture system, e.g., REDCap Central. This FOA does not support site-specific analyses and science. This new funding period will be 7 years in duration provided successful performance in the UG3 phase and the UH3 phase. The Quantum Sensing Challenges for Transformational Advances in Quantum Systems (QuSeC-TAQS) program supports interdisciplinary teams of three (3) or more investigators to explore highly innovative, original, and potentially transformative research on quantum sensing. The QuSeC-TAQS program supports coordinated efforts to develop and apply quantum sensor systems, with demonstrations resulting in proof of principle or field-testing of concepts and platforms that can benefit society. The QuSeC-TAQS program aligns with recommendations articulated in the strategy report, Bringing Quantum Sensors to Fruition,that was produced by the National Science and Technology Council Subcommittee on Quantum Information Science, under the auspices of the National Quantum Initiative.

The goal of this program is to increase the number and diversity of high-quality, trained providers available to address the shortages of mental health service professionals in schools served by high-need LEAs (as defined in this notice). The partnerships must include (1) one or more high-need LEAs or a State educational agency (SEA) on behalf of one or more high-need LEAs and (2) one or more eligible institutions of higher education (eligible IHE) (as defined in this notice). In this case "omnibus" means that this NRA has many individual program elements, each with its own due dates and topics. All together these cover the wide range of basic and applied supporting research and technology in space and Earth sciences supported by SMD. Amendment 4 to the NASA ARMD Research Opportunities in Aeronautics (ROA) 2021 NRA has been posted on the NSPIRES web site. University Student Research Challenge (solicitation NNH21ZEA001N-USRC2) seeks to challenge students to propose new ideas/concepts that are relevant to NASA Aeronautics. USRC will provide students, from accredited U.S. colleges or universities, with grants for their projects and with the challenge of raising cost share funds through a crowdfunding campaign. The process of creating and implementing a crowdfunding campaign acts as a teaching accelerator - requiring students to act like entrepreneurs and raise awareness about their research among the public. The solicitation goal can be accomplished through project ideas such as advancing the design, developing technology or capabilities in support of aviation, by demonstrating a novel concept, or enabling advancement of aeronautics-related technologies.
