Through a partnership with Senator Mike McGuire and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) the District has been asked to administer the Rural School Bus Pilot Project for the State of California. The main goal of this grant program is accelerating the turnover of California school bus fleets to lower carbon transportation choices, especially in rural school districts who have less access to other funding sources.

The San Joaquin Valley is home to a large number of older cars, many of which do not meet state emissions standards. Tune In & Tune Up helps vehicle owners take voluntary action to improve air quality by subsidizing expensive smog repairs.

The Carl Moyer Program was established in 1998 as a partnership between the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and local air districts. This grant program provides funding for replacing, repowering, or retrofitting eligible heavy-duty engines with cleaner-than-required technology.

The Funding Agricultural Replacement Measures for Emission Reductions (FARMER) Program provides funding through local air districts for agricultural harvesting equipment, heavy-duty trucks, agricultural pump engines, tractors, and other equipment used in agricultural operations. The FARMER Program is supported in part by California Climate Investments, a statewide program that puts billions of Cap-and-Trade dollars to work.

FARMER program is to help California's agricultural industry to reduce emissions to help meet federal ozone and particulate matter air quality standards. Applicants can apply to Off-Road Agricultural Equipment, On-Road Agricultural Truck, Zero-Emission Agricultural UTV, and Infrastructure. The Woodsmoke Reduction Program will offer financial incentives for homeowners to replace old, inefficient, and highly polluting wood stoves, wood inserts, or fireplaces with cleaner burning and more efficient home heating devices. The incentive amount will vary depending on the location of the residence and the household income. The Woodsmoke Reduction Program is part of California Climate Investments, a Statewide program that puts billions of cap-and-trade dollars to work reducing greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening the economy and improving public health and the environment.

Replace your old wood- or pellet-burning device with a new, cleaner option! The Burn Cleaner Program helps reduce particulate matter that comes from older wood-burning devices that contribute significantly to air pollution in the Valley during the Fall and Winter months. The replacement of existing gas and electric heating devices are not eligible under the program.

The Mojave Desert Air Quality Management District offers a variety of incentive programs for residents, businesses and public agencies to improve air quality in the Mojave Desert.  We are proud to partner with local business and individuals to help  reduce emissions from mobile sources through our Mobile Source Emissions Reduction Program We've worked with scores of local entities in securing grant funding to reduce mobile source emissions, which account for more than 70 percent of air pollution emissions within our regions.

Carl Moyer Memorial Air Quality Standards Attainment Program provides incentive grants for cleaner-than-required engines, equipment and other sources of pollution providing early or extra emission reductions. Eligible projects include cleaner on-road, off-road and stationary agricultural pump engines. The program achieves near-term reductions in emissions of oxides of nitrogen (NOx), particulate matter (PM), and reactive organic gas (ROG) which are necessary for California to meet its clean air commitments under the State Implementation Plan. NOx and ROG combine in the presence of sunlight to form ozone (smog), while PM, a component of diesel exhaust, has been identified as a toxic air contaminant by the Air Resources Board. Additional information can be found at the ARB website.
