FY2020 National Environmental Information Exchange Network Grant Program $400,000.00

The EPA Exchange Network Grant Program is soliciting project applications using the Environmental Information Exchange Network (EN) to:Facilitate sharing of environmental data, especially through shared and reusable services.Streamline data collection and exchanges to improve its timeliness for decision making.Increase the quality and access to environmental data through discovery, publishing, outbound and analytical services so it is more useful to environmental managers. Community-Scale Air Toxics Ambient Monitoring $750,000.00

This notice announces the availability of funds and solicits applications for proposals for projects designed to assist state, local, and tribal air agencies in identifying and characterizing air toxics, also known as hazardous air pollutants (HAPs), through work that falls into one of four categories. Those categories are: 1) characterizing the impacts of air toxics in a community (community-scale monitoring); 2) assessing impacts of toxics emissions from specific sources (near-source monitoring); 3) evaluating new and emerging testing methods for air toxics; and, 4) analyzing existing air toxics data and developing or enhancing analytical, modeling, and/or implementation tools. Air toxics of particular interest to EPA in this solicitation include ethylene oxide, chloroprene, benzene, 1,3-butadiene, and metals such as hexavalent chromium, nickel, and arsenic.

FY 2020 – FY 2021 Pollution Prevention Grant Program $500,000.00

EPA is announcing a grant competition to fund two-year Pollution Prevention assistance agreements for projects that provide technical assistance (e.g., information, training, tools) to businesses and their facilities to help them develop and adopt source reduction practices (also known as “pollution prevention” or “P2”). P2 means reducing or eliminating pollutants from entering any waste stream or otherwise being released into the environment prior to recycling, treatment, or disposal. In keeping with the Pollution Prevention Act of 1990, EPA is encouraging P2 because implementing these practices can result in reductions in toxic pollutants, the use of water, energy and other raw materials, while also lowering business costs. States, state entities, federally-recognized tribes and intertribal consortia are eligible to apply.

San Francisco Bay Water Quality Improvement Fund $2,000,000.00

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 9 (EPA) is soliciting applications to improve water quality and restore aquatic habitat (i.e. wetlands) in San Francisco Bay and its watersheds. A broad range of entities, as described in Section III.A, are eligible to submit applications under this announcement for projects within the nine Bay Area counties (Marin, Napa, Sonoma, Solano, Contra Costa, Alameda, Santa Clara, San Mateo, and San Francisco.) Applications must fully describe the scope of the project, budget, and environmental results. EPA will use the criteria described in Section V to evaluate eligible applications.

FY 2020 and FY 2021 Source Reduction Assistance Grant Program $200,000.00

EPA is announcing a grant competition to fund two-year Source Reduction Assistance (SRA) agreements that support research, investigation, study, demonstration, education and training using source reduction approaches (also known as “pollution prevention” and herein referred to as “P2”). P2 means reducing or eliminating pollutants from entering any waste stream or otherwise released into the environment prior to recycling, treatment, or disposal. EPA is particularly interested in receiving applications that offer hands on practical P2 tools, information and/or innovative P2 approaches to measurably improve the public health and the surrounding environment, by reducing the use of hazardous substances, reducing toxic pollutants, supporting efficiencies in reducing resource use (e.g., water and energy), and reducing business expenditures and liability costs.

National Tribal Toxics Council (NTTC) Technical Support $800,000.00

EPA’s Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT) is announcing a five year assistance agreement to eligible applicants (see Section III.A.) to provide technical support to OPPT’s National Tribal Toxics Council (NTTC) in order to: 1) Represent tribal interests in the development and implementation of chemical risk assessment, risk management and pollution prevention programs; and 2) Facilitate tribal collaboration with EPA.For this competitive announcement, the successful applicant will: 1) Assist federally-recognized tribes, Alaska Native Villages and intertribal organizations in selecting and maintaining, a geographically diverse membership with a diversity of relevant and technical expertise in the NTTC; 2) Assist the NTTC in maintaining a viable charter that covers activities eligible for EPA funding; and 3) Provide professional and technical support to the NTTC to conduct its meetings and other activities. The recipient will work with EPA and the NTTC to fulfill the objectives of the NTTC charter including: 1) Raise and assess tribal chemical risk management and pollution prevention program development and implementation issues with OPPT; 2) Assess national chemical risk management policy and pollution prevention initiatives that affect tribes and Alaska Native Villages; 3) Offer a network for tribal chemical risk management officials to share information and represent tribal interests on chemical risk assessment, risk management policy and pollution prevention initiatives that impact tribes; and 4) Promote and enhance tribal chemical risk management and pollution prevention program development.
