Priority activities under this announcement include preparation, administration, or implementation of timber sales, Stewardship and GNA projects that treat forest and woodlands.

BLM CA Threatened and Endangered Species $300,000.00

BLMs Threatened and Endangered Species Program works to conserve and recover federally-listed and Bureau sensitive animal and plant species and their habitat on public lands. The program also shares cooperative responsibility with other BLM programs and partners for conservation of non-listed rare species with a goal of avoiding the need to list them in the future. The BLM manages habitat for over 430 wildlife, fish, and plant species listed as threatened or endangered under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and at least 15 species identified as candidates for listing.

The Plant Conservation Program provides leadership in identifying, maintaining, and restoring Western native plant communities on public lands. Public lands contain a diversity of wildlife that need habitat of native plant communities comprised of over 50 ecoregions across BLM administered lands. Each ecoregion contains native plants that have adapted to those environments. The Program will continue to work with agencies and partners to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the plant program. Into the future, the BLM would continue to work with partners to focus on more diverse forbs and grasses for restoration of wildlife habitats and rehabilitation after wildfires.

BLM CA Youth Conservation Opportunities on Public Lands $500,000.00

BLM CA Youth Conservation projects provide employment for participants and opportunities to learn about and gain work experience in public lands and natural resources management while promoting long-term interest in public lands stewardship and the BLM.
