The purpose of the RRTC program is to achieve the goals of, and improve the effectiveness of, services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, through well-designed research, training, technical assistance, and dissemination activities in important topical areas as specified by NIDILRR. This particular grant opportunity is for an RRTC to conduct research toward new knowledge of, and reduction of disparities in employment outcomes among people with disabilities, particularly those in underserved areas/populations, as defined by the Executive Order On Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government. The RRTC must explore and provide detailed information about employment outcome disparities within the population of people with disabilities, across subpopulations defined by race, ethnicity, LGBTQ+ status, or poverty status. New knowledge generated by this Center must ultimately be used toward development and implementation of evidence-based policies, practices, or interventions for achieving more equitable employment outcomes among the heterogeneous population of people with disabilities. The RRTC must serve as a national resource center in this area, and must serve as a resource for the conduct of culturally competent disability and rehabilitation research in the employment domain. The grant under this opportunity will have a 60-month project period with five 12-month budget periods.

RERCs also demonstrate and evaluate such technologies, facilitate service delivery system changes, stimulate the production and distribution of new technologies and equipment in the private sector, and provide training opportunities. The purpose of this particular RERC is to conduct research, development, and related activities toward technologies that are intended to improve the lives of people aging with long-term disabilities. NIDILRR plans to make one grant under this opportunity in FY 2023. The grant will have a 60-month project period, with five 12-month budget periods.

RERCs also demonstrate and evaluate such technologies, facilitate service delivery system changes, stimulate the production and distribution of new technologies and equipment in the private sector, and provide training opportunities. The purpose of this particular RERC is to conduct research, development, and related activities that lead to new or improved products, devices, built environments, and technological advances that enhance (1) accessibility and usability of homes and communities for people with disabilities, or (2) access to safe, accessible, and useable transportation options for people with disabilities, or both. NIDILRR plans to make one grant under this opportunity in FY 2023. The grant will have a 60-month project period, with five 12-month budget periods.

The purpose of NIDILRR's Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects (DRRP) is to plan and conduct research and dissemination and utilization activities to develop knowledge, methods, procedures, and rehabilitation technology that maximize the full inclusion and integration into society, employment, independent living, family/caregiver support, and economic and social self-sufficiency of individuals with disabilities, especially individuals with the greatest support needs, and to improve the effectiveness of services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (Rehabilitation Act). The purposes of this particular DRRP are to conduct rigorous research, development, technical assistance, dissemination, and utilization activities to increase successful technology transfer of rehabilitation technology products and devices developed by NIDRR-funded technology grantees. NIDILRR plans to make one grant under this opportunity in FY 2023. The grant will have a 60- month project period, with five 12-month budget periods.

The purpose of the RERC program is to improve the effectiveness of services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act by conducting advanced engineering research on and development of innovative technologies that are designed to solve particular rehabilitation problems or to remove environmental barriers. The purpose of this particular RERC is to conduct research, development, and related activities toward advances in prosthetics and orthotics technologies that improve health and function, employment, or community living outcomes among people with limb loss or impaired limb function. NIDILRR plans to make one grant under this opportunity in FY 2023. The grant will have a 60-month project period, with five 12-month budget periods.

The purpose of the RERC program is to improve the effectiveness of services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act by conducting advanced engineering research on and development of innovative technologies that are designed to solve particular rehabilitation problems or to remove environmental barriers. RERCs also demonstrate and evaluate such technologies, facilitate service delivery system changes, stimulate the production and distribution of new technologies and equipment in the private sector, and provide training opportunities. The purpose of this particular RERC is to conduct research, development, and related activities that lead to rehabilitation technologies, practices and services that improve the health, and the physical, cognitive, sensory, or communication abilities of people with a wide range of disabilities, especially those with the greatest support needs. Rehabilitation engineering in this area should result in new or improved products, devices, and technological advances that enhance rehabilitation services in clinical or community settings. NIDILRR plans to make one grant under this opportunity in FY 2023. The grant will have a 60-month project period, with five 12-month budget periods.

The purpose of NIDILRR's Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects (DRRP) is to plan and conduct research and dissemination and utilization activities to develop knowledge, methods, procedures, and rehabilitation technology that maximize the full inclusion and integration into society, employment, independent living, family/caregiver support, and economic and social self-sufficiency of individuals with disabilities, especially individuals with the greatest support needs, and to improve the effectiveness of services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (Rehabilitation Act). The purpose of this particular DRRP is to improve the lives of individuals with TBI through a multi-site collaborative research project on a topic(s) related to rehabilitation following TBI. The project will leverage the capacities of the TBIMS Centers Program and contribute to the advancement of evidence-based rehabilitation interventions. Applications must include a proposed research collaboration between a minimum number of three of the currently-funded NIDILRR TBI Model Systems Centers. NIDILRR plans to make one grant under this opportunity in FY 2023. The grant will have a 60-month project period, with five 12-month budget periods.

The purpose of this particular RRTC is to conduct research, training, and related activities to contribute to optimal community living and participation outcomes of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including those with co-occurring disabilities. NIDILRR plans to make one grant under this opportunity in FY 2023. The grant will have a 60-month project period, with five 12-month budget periods.
