Replace your old wood- or pellet-burning device with a new, cleaner option! The Burn Cleaner Program helps reduce particulate matter that comes from older wood-burning devices that contribute significantly to air pollution in the Valley during the Fall and Winter months. The replacement of existing gas and electric heating devices are not eligible under the program.

As 3CE launches energy programs to meet our community’s goals, we continue to collaborate and engage with stakeholders to develop and enhance our energy programs.

The Customer Incentive Program is designed to encourage energy efficient lighting systems and the exploration and implementation of energy efficient technologies.  Often, the latter technologies are overlooked because customers are either unfamiliar with them, think they are too costly to apply at their facilities, or do not believe such technologies can effectively meet their energy needs. These technologies may address either equipment or operational change, therefore, if the Department can quantify a demand reduction and/or energy savings, there is a basis for providing an incentive to assist the customer. This program provides incentives in two separate areas, lighting, and energy efficient equipment.

The cheapest energy is the energy you don’t use. So while we keep our rates competitive, we also want to help you reduce your energy usage. Reducing your energy use will save you money and helps our environment. It’s a win-win!

The City of Colton Electric Utility is offering customers air conditioner(AC) tune-up rebates up to $60 for A/C units that do not exceed 5 tons. To qualify for this program the customer must have an AC unit that is 5 tons or less. The customer must have an active residential Colton Electric Account.

Rebates are on a first come first serve basis, the program will end when all funding has been spent.

The City of Colton Electric Utility offers residential customers generous rebates for specific Energy Efficiency Home Improvements. Rebates are provided for the following product list:

• Occupancy Sensors (Limit 8)
• Ceiling Fan ( Limit 4, Must be Energy Star Approved)
• Box Fan (Limit 4)
• Whole-house Fan
• Evaporative Cooler
• Room A/C (Must be Energy Star Approved)
• Solar Attic Fan
• Solar Light Tube (Limit 2)
• Pool Pump (Two Speed and Variable Speed only)
• Clothes Washer (Must be Energy Star Approved)
• Dishwasher (Must be Energy Star Approved)
• Refrigerator (Must be Energy Star Approved)
• Smart Thermostat (Must be Wi-Fi Enabled)

The City of Colton Electric Utility now offers residential customers generous rebates for installing replacement windows and insulation. Rebates are provided for the following product list:

• Windows must meet Energy Star approval with a U-Factor less than 0.35 and SHGC less than 0.30.
  • Rebate is $4 per square foot
• Insulation may be added to the attic, and/or exterior walls. Rebates will also be provided for the radiant barrier installed within the attic space. Insulation and radiant barrier must meet the following R-Values:
  • Attic Insulation - Minimum R-30: Rebate is $0.40 per square foot
  • Radiant Barrier - Minimum R-19: Rebate is $0.30 per square foot
  • Exterior Walls - Minimum R-13: Rebate is $0.20 per square foot

Pre-approval is required before you dispose of your old mower under the CLIP program.  An office visit is not required, you may APPLY ONLINE FOR CLIP and we will approve your application within 24 hours during the week, and on the next business day if applied on weekend or holidays.

Things to know

• You can Install the measures yourself or hire a contractor of your choice.
• Express Energy Solutions can pay rebates up to $20,000 per account, per year. 

For large or complex projects not eligible for the Express Energy Solutions program, consider our Custom Incentives. If you are a small to mid-sized business and need help identifying products that can reduce your bill and locating contractors who can install them, consider SMUD's Complete Energy Solutions program.

Who's eligible?

• SMUD customers who are currently on a commercial billing rate
• Property managers of a multi-family complex operating as a business

How does it work?

• Review our EES Procedures Manual and Rebates for qualifying products, eligibility and performance requirements.
• View and select your measures from our list of qualified products.
• Note: Rebates larger than $5,000 require pre-approval. For rebates under $5,000, apply online within 90 days of installation.
• Submit your rebate application along with required documents to smud.org/MyAccount.

Whether you choose to be your own contractor, or hire a professional contractor, all parties need to first set up a My Account at smud.org in order to apply for a rebate.

GWP’s Smart Home Energy and Water Saving Rebate Program helps our customers save money on energy and water bills by offering rebates on eligible products. Most of the eligible products must be ENERGY STAR® qualified, so look for the ENERGY STAR symbol when making your purchase. Please keep in mind the following:

• You must be a Glendale Water & Power customer and the product you purchase must be installed in a residence serviced by Glendale Water & Power.
• Rebates will be issued in the form of a bill credit which will appear on your GWP bill in 1 to 2 billing cycles.
• Applications must be submitted no more than 12 months from the date of purchase. 
• Rebates apply only to the products listed below.
• Online purchases will receive an Outside of Glendale rebate value.
