Corpsmembers aged 18 – 25 years old complete a year of paid service and receive on-the-job training while completing projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.  California Conservation Corps (CCC) projects include reforestation, forest fuel reduction, habitat restoration, urban greening and community forestry.

Individuals can apply to participate in the Forest Health CCC program and organizations can apply to provide projects for the Forest Health CCC program.

Energy Corps projects include energy efficiency audits and retrofits. Individuals can apply to participate in the Energy Corps and organizations can apply to provide projects for the Energy Corps.

PG&E offers 0% interest loans for replacing old and worn-out equipment with more energy-efficient models. We'll set you up with a loan repayment amount that is in line with the monthly energy savings from your upgrade. Your energy bill shouldn't increase due to your equipment investment. Once your loan is paid off, you will see savings on your bill.

Loans range between $5,000 and $4,000,000 per premise, with loan periods of up to 120 months.

In some circumstances, GoGreen Business Financing for small businesses might be a better option:

• An expedited installation.
• A loan of less than $5,000.
• Project requires longer payback (i.e., windows, rooftop HVAC).

The California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA) Environmental Justice (EJ) Small Grants Program offers funding opportunities authorized by California Code of Regulations Title 27, Division 1, Chapter 3, Article 1 to assist eligible non-profit community organizations and federally-recognized Tribal governments address environmental justice issues in areas disproportionately affected by environmental pollution and hazards. The EJ Small Grants are awarded on a competitive basis.

2021 Notice of Funding Availability

In March 2021, CalEPA announced it is accepting applications for its 2021 grant cycle. For each project, the maximum grant amount is $50,000. CalEPA plans to announce the grant awards in the fall of 2021. The grant term will be 18 months, approximately from fall 2021 through Spring 2023.

CAL FIRE’s Forest Health Program funds active restoration and reforestation activities aimed at providing for more resilient and sustained forests to ensure future existence of forests in California while also mitigating climate change, protecting communities from fire risk, strengthening rural economies and improving California’s water & air.

Through grants to regionally-based partners and collaboratives, CAL FIRE seeks to significantly increase fuels management, fire reintroduction, treatment of degraded areas, and conservation of forests.

Project activities funded by CAL FIRE's Forest Health Grant Program may include:

• Forest fuels reduction
• Prescribed fire
• Pest management
• Reforestation
• Biomass utilization
• Conservation easements and/or land acquisition through the Forest Legacy Program
• Research through the Forest Research Program

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is soliciting applications from eligible applicants to (1) assist in the development and use of innovative activities relating to water workforce development and career opportunities in the drinking water and wastewater utility sector, and (2) expand public awareness about drinking water and wastewater utilities and to connect individuals to careers in the drinking water and wastewater utility sector.

The purpose of this solicitation is to fund a design-build competition that will challenge multi-disciplinary project teams to design and build a mixed-use development – using cutting-edge energy technologies, tools and construction practices - that is affordable, equitable, emissions-free and resilient to climate change impacts and extreme weather events.

• Full Applications for the Design Phase: July 28, 2021 - 5PM PDT
• Application Materials for the Build Phase: June 23, 2023 - 5PM PDT

The purpose of the grant program is to provide funds for pilot projects that: (1) Address emerging forest and rangeland resource issues, (2) Have national or regional relevancy, or (3) Develop new and innovative projects that can be replicated at other institutions.

Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO) Fiscal Year 2021 Systems Integration and Hardware Incubator Funding Program

The District is currently accepting applications for its Charge Up! Program. This Program provides funding for public agencies, businesses, and property owners of multi-unit dwellings (i.e. apartment complexes, condominiums, etc.) in the San Joaquin Valley to install electric vehicle (EV) chargers. These chargers will support existing EV owners and encourage the growth of the clean technology in the Valley.
